EN: I usually make postcards with my completed seamless pattern designs, this one was created the other way round. As I was playing with the elements from “green cathedral / jungle” collection (started with first black and white sketches then transformed and stored into colorized and illustrated image bank dedicated for the theme of the collection), so… this time I first created a non repeat pattern on a postcard format. I quite liked the carte so I designed a similar layout for a scattered medium tight upward repeat pattern.
FR: J’ai l’habitude de réaliser des cartes postales à partir de mes motifs sans raccord finalisés. Pour celui-ci, le processus s’est fait dans l’autre sens. En jouant avec les éléments de la collection « Green Cathedral / Jungle » (d’abord des esquisses en noir et blanc, puis transformées et archivées dans une banque d’images illustrées et mises en couleur dédiée au thème de la collection), j’ai d’abord composé un motif non répétitif au format carte postale. La carte m’ayant plu, j’ai ensuite conçu une configuration réutilisant les mêmes éléments pour faire un motif à répétition assez dense, orienté vers le haut.
How it looks on walls : medium or macro?
EN: This is a seamless tossed and directional upward repeat. A tropical floral one that features vertical heliconia style blooms (forming a upward “garden column” motion), textured bottle brush spikes, and fluttering butterflies arranged in an airy way (keeping the composition lively. The medium scale/ density is balanced by smaller blossoms, seed pods, and butterflies that fill gaps and maintain even visual rhythm.
It displays a fresh palette of teal, coral, terracotta, and lilac that creates a modern jungle mood influenced and modulated by various color grounds.
It is suited for high-end interiors, including custom drapery, upholstery, and bedding. the vibrant yet balanced color story makes it a trend-forward choice for fashion apparel, luxury gift wrap, and stationery. Concomitantly, the pattern provides a timeless tropical escape that feels both lushly wild and artistically organized
FR: Il s’agit d’un motif floral tropical structuré en mouvement ascendant, mettant en scène des fleurs de type héliconia qui forment de véritables « colonnes de jardin », des épis, sorte de goupillons texturés et des papillons virevoltants disposés avec légèreté pour une composition vivante. La densité est moyenne, équilibrées par de petites fleurs, des fleurs en bouton (sorte de cosses) et des papillons qui viennent combler les espaces et assurent un rythme harmonieux.
Le design déploie une palette fraîche de bleu sarcelle, corail, terracotta et lilas, créant une ambiance de « jungle moderne » qui se module et se transforme selon la couleur du fond.
